The Economic Development service initiates and supports
community projects with a view to short and long term employment and
socio-economic
growth. These services are in response to community requests and revolve
around availability of human resources.
The services can include:
- Leadership and facilitation
- Technical support
- Researching programs and sources of funding
- Organizing a variety of workshops, conferences and business
breakfasts
- Information gathering and distribution
- Running specialized programs for women and youth
Some examples of our involvement are:
- Youth work experience through summer cooperative programming
- CHALLENGE SADC/CFDC high school business idea program
- Internet Community Access Centres (ICAC)
- Community Access Program to assist ICACs
- Women’s Business Network
- Tourism support initiatives with Chutes Coulonge, Tourism
Outaouais, guided tours of the area, information booths, client service
workshops for students working in tourism
